The service

These Terms govern your use of Role Key, a Discord bot and web dashboard operated by [Company legal name] (“Role Key”, “we”, “us”). Role Key checks public blockchain data to see which NFTs a linked wallet holds and assigns Discord roles based on rules set by server admins.

Members link a wallet by sending an exact amount from the wallet to itself, or by placing a code on a public profile. Role Key never asks you to connect a wallet, sign a message or approve a token.

Eligibility

You must be old enough to use Discord in your country and able to agree to these Terms. If you use Role Key for a server or organisation, you confirm you’re allowed to act for it.

You must also follow Discord’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

Server admin responsibilities

If you add Role Key to a server, you’re responsible for:

  1. aThe rules you set, including which collections, thresholds and roles apply.
  2. bWhat the roles you assign unlock in your server.
  3. cGranting the bot the permissions it needs and placing its role correctly.
  4. dTelling your members how verification works and pointing them to our Privacy Policy.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  1. aUse Role Key to break any law or Discord’s terms.
  2. bTry to fake verification, impersonate another wallet owner, or exploit bugs.
  3. cDisrupt, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service.
  4. dUse Role Key to harass, scam or mislead members, including posing as Role Key to request wallet connections or signatures.

Role Key will never ask for a seed phrase, private key, wallet connection or signature. Anyone who does is not us.

No financial advice

Role Key reads holdings; it does not value, recommend or endorse any token, collection or project. Nothing in the service is financial, investment, legal or tax advice. You are responsible for every transaction you send, including the self-send and its gas fee.

Plans and fees

Some features need a paid plan, as shown on our pricing. Billing terms, renewals and refunds: [billing and refund terms].

Availability and no warranty

We work to keep Role Key running, but it depends on Discord, blockchains and RPC providers we don’t control. The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. Role checks can be delayed, and roles may be added or removed later than expected.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, [Company legal name] is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, lost profits, lost tokens, or losses from roles being granted, delayed or removed. Our total liability for any claim is limited to [liability cap, e.g. fees paid in the last 12 months].

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes

We may update the service or these Terms. If a change is material, we’ll update the date above and give notice where reasonable. Continuing to use Role Key after a change means you accept it.

Termination

You can stop using Role Key at any time by removing the bot from your server or disconnecting the dashboard. We may suspend or end access if you break these Terms or put the service or others at risk. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as No financial advice and Limitation of liability) continue to apply.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by [governing law]. Disputes will be handled in [venue / courts], unless the law where you live says otherwise.
