01How it works

Set it up once. It keeps roles right.

01

Add Role Key

Invite the bot with four permissions. No admin, no access to message history.

02

Set up on the dashboard

Pick roles and tiers, set the rule, choose a verify channel and send the panel. Nothing to set up inside Discord.

03

Members press Verify

One button on the panel, no commands. Roles land in seconds and are re-checked automatically: every 10 minutes on Pro and Network, every hour on the free plan.

02Verify methods

Three ways to prove a wallet.

None of them touch a website wallet prompt. Members pick the one they like; admins can turn any method off per server.

01

Self-send

Role Key gives you an exact amount. Send it from your wallet to the same wallet, in your own wallet app. Only the owner can do that, so the transfer is the proof.

ENS text record

Add the code as a text record on the ENS name that points to your wallet. Good for vaults and wallets without an OpenSea profile.

Five chains.
One holder count.

ERC-721 and ERC-1155 on every network below. Link a collection’s contracts across chains and Role Key counts them as one balance.

05FAQ

Asked and answered.

Q01

Do my members ever connect a wallet?

No. Role Key never asks for a wallet connection, a message signature or a token approval. Members prove ownership with a code on a public profile, or by sending a small exact amount from their wallet to itself.

Q02

How does self-send prove ownership?

Each request gets its own amount, like 0.000437 ETH. Only the wallet’s owner can send funds out of it, so when that exact amount moves from the wallet to itself, the wallet is linked. The ETH never leaves; only gas is spent.

Q03

What happens when someone sells?

Role Key re-checks holdings automatically, every 10 minutes on Pro and Network and every hour on the free plan. A role comes off only after two failed checks in a row, and returns on the next check once they hold again. A failed chain read never removes anything.

Q04

Do members verify again in every server?

No. Once a wallet is linked, it counts in every server that uses Role Key. Each server still applies its own collections and role rules.

Q05

Which tokens are supported?

ERC-721 and ERC-1155 collections on Ethereum, Base, ApeChain, Robinhood Chain and HyperEVM. Link contracts across chains and holdings add up.

Q06

What permissions does the bot need?

Manage Roles, View Channels, Send Messages and Embed Links. That’s all. Drag the Role Key role above any role you want it to assign.
